About Me
Hello - I'm Ella. Originally from Christchurch, I grew up in a family of six, with weekends and holidays spent enjoying the outdoors; exploring new places and ticking off hikes around the country. Standard behaviour was to come home from school having drawn on some part of my body with my latest art project in hand - a trait to continue through high school that defined the direction of my study.
I have a Bachelor of Design (Hons) degree majoring in Textile Design which I achieved with first class Honours at Wellington's Massey University. My study has lead me to love the creative processes of screenprint, printmaking, drawing and natural dye, followed by styling and photography - I love a finished product! My preference of process stems from my love of the handmade and natural forms.
Since finishing my study, I've worked at Designmade in Christchurch, for Designers Guild in London, done a stint of travel, then back to Auckland to James Dunlop Textiles. All of these places have influenced and developed my creative skills.
I love making, creating and getting my hands dirty!
